In Orissa, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia along with his supporters was arrested by the Police late last night for trying to enter riot-hit Kandhamal district defying a ban on their visit. Mr. Togadia is now lodged at the forest Inspection Bunglow at Charichowk in Boudh District of the State. Terming the ban as illegal and undemocratic the VHP leader said, it was not fair on the part of the State Government to put a restriction on his visit when it recently allowed a European Union delegation to visit Kandhamal.

Meanwhile, the VHP has called 12-hour Kandhamal bandh today protesting the Administration's move to bar Mr. Togadia from entering Kandhamal.
