Senior VHP leader Ashok Singhal passed away this afternoon. 90 year old Singhal was suffering from serious respiratory problems and was admitted in a private hospital in Gurgaon four days back. He breathed his last at 2.24 PM today. His cremation will take place tomorrow evening in New Delhi. A bachelor and an RSS pracharak all his life, Singhal was the prominent leader of temple movement in Ayodhya. <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the passing away of VHP leader Ashok Singhal. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, Singhal was an institution in himself, whose life was centred around serving the nation. He said, Singhal was the force behind several noble deeds and social work, which benefited the poor. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister said, he himself was always fortunate to receive Singhal's blessings and guidance and his death is a deep personal loss. Mr Modi said, Ashok Singhal is an inspiration for generations.
