The Vishwa Hindu Parishad today asked the Coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir to stop the movement of pilgrims to cave shrine of Amarnath because of the volatile situation in the Valley. VHP state unit president Ramakant Dubey today's batch of pilgrims have been stranded between Pampore and Bijbehara. He asked both the Central and state government to ensure foolproof security to the pilgrims.A fresh batch of 2,589 pilgrims today left from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar for their onward journey to cave shrine of Amarnath. With today's batch, as many as 70,867 pilgrims have left from Jammu to pay obeisance of the Ice Lingam at the 3,880 metre high cave shine. Over 3.75 lakh pilgrims have so far visited the cave shrine since the commencement of yatra on June 30.
