A veteran journalist of Assam and the North-East, Mr. Kartik Baruah passed away at a Mumbai Hospital on Friday morning. He was suffering from heart ailments since long. He was 70. Baruah, who joined Press Trust of India as a Reporter in 1950s, was elevated to the post of Assistant General Manager of the premier news agency before his retirement. Several journalist bodies of Assam and the North- East have condoled the death of Kartik Baruah. ent
