Veteran journalist Inder Malhotra passes away

Veteran journalist Inder Malhotra passed away in a Delhi hospital on Saturday. He was 86. One of the most respected journalists of the country, Malhotra had worked with The Statesman and The Times of India, New Delhi.<br/><br/>Mr. Malhotra was one of few remaining political observers in India who was born and remained active before India gained independence in 1947.<br/><br/>President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the death of veteran journalist.<br/><br/>In his condolence message, President said the nation has lost a veteran journalist, who served as a role model for others in the profession.<br/><br/>Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari has condoled the passing away Inder Malhotra.<br/><br/>In his message, Mr Ansari said, Inder Malhotra was one of the most distinguished and respected editors of the country.<br/><br/>Mr Ansari said, he combined fearless journalism with immaculate authorship and scholarly research.<br/><br/>The Vice President conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved members of the family.
