Veteran Forward Bloc leader Ashok Ghosh admitted to hospital

Veteran Forward Bloc leader, Ashok Ghosh has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata. Hospital sources said his condition remained critical this evening. Mr. Ghosh, aged 94, was admitted to the hospital today in the morning and is kept on ventilation. He has been suffering from old age-related diseases for some time, the sources said. <br/><br/>West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee and Left Front chairman, Biman Bose went to the hospital to enquire about the veteran Left leader's health. Mr. Ghosh took over as state secretary of Foward Bloc in the late 1940s and has been re-elected to the post for the past seven decades making him the longest serving leader at the post in any party.
