Veteran bollywood actress, Sadhana, known as charming heroine in Hindi film industry passed away this morning at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai due to prolonged illness. She was 74. She was born in Karachi on September 2, 1941. Sadhana Shivdasani, better known as Sadhana was an fashion icon since her first film. <br/><br/>The Filmalaya Production banner of producer director R K Nayyar introduced Sadhana and her iconic hairstyle known as Sadhana-Cut in their 1960 romantic film, Love in Simla. The fringe hairstyle soon became popular and a fashion fad in the 1960s. The style was followed by girls in India and is still known by the same name. The film was declared a hit at the box office and was listed in the top 10 films of 1960.<br/><br/> Sadhana was also credited for bringing into fashion tight chudidar-kurta in 1965's film Waqt. An actress with beautiful eyes and expressive face with graceful appearance had worked in number of hit movies like Hum Dono, Asli Nakli, Rajkumaar.<br/>This look suited the role of naughty, pretty, glamourous heroine. The musical hits like Arjoo , Mere Mehboob, Mera Saaya , Woh Kaun Thi, Ek Musafir Ek Hasina played a vital role in her career. She worked in 35 movies. Saadhana also played simple village girl in Bimal Roy's 'Parakh'.<br/><br/>Sadhana had health issues due to thyroid, which she got treated at a hospital in Boston. After returning from the US, she starred in the movies like ' Intequam', 'Ek Phool Do Mali' and 'Geeta Mera Naam' in 1974 which she also directed.
