Vessel carrying LNG to Petronet LNG Terminal at Puthuvype to reach Kochi tomorrow

In Kerala, the first vessel carrying Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to the Petronet LNG Terminal at Puthuvype will reach Kochi tomorrow. The vessel is carrying 58,464 metric tonnes of LNG from Qatar. The new LNG terminal at Puthuvype in Kochi has been set up at a cost of 3750 crore rupees.The consignment, kept at minus 160 degree Celsius, will be re-gassified and distributed to Public Sector Undertakings like BPCL Kochi Refineries, the Fertilizers and Chemicals of Travancore and others. An underground pipeline has already been laid to these industries for this purpose.More industries and other establishments will be served once the laying of underground pipeline from Kochi to Mangalore and Bangaluru is completed.
