'Very large' Hurricane pounds Bermuda Island

Giant waves and gusty winds from Hurricane Igor are pounding the islands of Bermuda, flooding coastal areas and cutting power to thousands of homes on the Atlantic island. Authorities have warned that it could be the worst storm the British overseas territory has ever seen in the Atlantic. The storm, which is moving north-east, has been downgraded to a category one hurricane. A Royal Navy warship and helicopter are standing offshore ready to help with relief efforts.
