An officer of Indian Foreign Service, Mr. Venu Rajamony today assumed the charge as the Press Secretary to the President of India Mr Pranab Mukherjee. Mr. Rajamony was Joint Secretary, heading the Multilateral Institutions Division of the Department of Economic Affairs in the Union Ministry of Finance, from October 2010 to August, 2012. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986 following a two-year stint as Staff Correspondent of the Indian Express.
