Venkaiah Naidu visits Apollo Hospital, says she is responding well

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has expressed hope that Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa will recover from her illness and return home soon. He paid a visit to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai this evening where she is admitted since September 22, and inquired about her health from the doctors treating her. Later, he told newspersons outside the hospital that Ms Jayalalithaa is responding well to the treatment as informed by the doctors. He asked people to desist from spreading rumours about her health, as the hospital is issuing medical bulletins about her health.<br/><br/>The chief minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry V.Narayanasamy, CPI leader D.Raja, former Union Ministers Dr Anbumani Ramadoss, GK Vasan and a host of other political leaders also visited the hospital and met the doctors and ministers about the health of the 68 year old leader of the ruling AIADMK. They also said they were briefed that she is showing signs of improvement in her health.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Apollo hospital administration has said Ms Jayalalithaa's health condition is being continuously watched by a panel of experts. The hospital statements issued by its chief operating officer state that she remains under respiratory support and being treated for decongestion of lungs and infection. The line of treatment being provided to her has been drawn up by keeping in view her long history of diabetes and seasonal bronchitis.
