Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today urged the Prasar Bharti to function more effectively to live up to the challenges of growing competition in media space. e stressed on the need to improve the content and the production to increase the viewership. According to sources, Mr Naidu also requested the Ministry and Prasar Bharti officials to resolve various issues like shortage of manpower and resources at the earliest. <br/><br/>He said, government has highest regards for the board and has no intention of interfering in its functioning. The Ministry would rather like to create an enabling environment for its better functioning. Mr Naidu also assured the board to adequately support its efforts to overcome various bottlenecks.<br/><br/>Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharti Jawhar Sircar made a presentation on the issues and challenges faced by the board. The meeting was attended by Minister of State Rajyavardhan Rathore, Chairman of Prasar Bharti, and senior officials of Ministry and Prasar Bharti.
