Venkaiah Naidu urges Congress not to block GST bill in Parliament

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has appealed to the Opposition Congress not to block the Goods and Services Tax bill in Parliament. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr Naidu said the opposition party has all rights to oppose. But, blocking its passage in the Rajya Sabha will have a negative impact on country's economic growth and it sends a wrong signal to the people.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu asked the opposition to respect the mandate of the people saying that it should rise above politics. He said the image of Parliament has been tarnished because of the unruly behavior of the Congress members. His Ministerial colleague Mukhatar Abbas Naqvi sought cooperation of the opposition and said, the government will make all efforts to push through the bill.
