Venkaiah Naidu stresses on need to expand EPFO services

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu has stressed on the need to expand the services of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation. He formally launched the enhancement of minimum pension to Rs 1000 per month for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha states, at a programme held in Hyderabad last evening. Speaking on the occasion, he said the government has taken the decision to ensure a minimum of Rs 1000 to the pensioner. The Children pension also will go up to Rs 250 per month while it will be Rs 750 in case of orphans. The enhancement will benefit about 32 lakh people while over one lakh members in Telangana will benefit through this. This will incur additional funds to a tune of Rs 11,000 crore for the central government.
