Venkaiah Naidu invites BRICS countries filmmakers to shoot films in India

Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today invited filmmakers of BRICS countries to shoot films in India. Addressing the concluding function of first BRICS film festival in New Delhi, Mr Naidu expressed hope that creativity of film fraternity will touch new heights. The Minister said, everyone should be proud of country's heritage and work towards social harmony. He said, as cinema has influence on minds of the people, it propagate the message against terrorism. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said, new age cinema should not only entertain people but also enlighten them on social issues. AIR correspondent reports Indian film Thithi won the best film award of the festival. <br/><br/>Best director award went to Huo Jianqi of China. South Africa's Thabo Rametsi took home the best Actor award while Russian actor Yulia Peresild was given best actress award. Chinese movie Skiptrace, directed by Renny Harlin, was the closing film of the festival. The film festival opened in New Delhi on 2nd of this month with the screening of a Malayalam movie, Veeram.
