Venkaiah Naidu hands over release order of Rs 1,083 crore to TN CM Palaniswamy

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu handed over release orders worth 1083 crore rupees to Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy as his ministry's contribution to three central schemes in the state. The schemes include the AMRUT, PM Awaz Yojana and Deenadayal Antyodaya Yojana. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said better performing states in carrying out central schemes would be given incentives by 20 percent of the project cost to undertake more development works. After inaugurating the 7.4 kilometer stretch of the Chennai Metro rail service this morning, he reviewed the implementation of schemes under his ministry in the state, jointly with the chief minister. <br/><br/>Later, he told the press, Tamil Nadu stands first in implementation of the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme and said it was among the first in notifying the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act 2016. However, he urged the state to establish the Real Estate Regulatory Authority and the Appellate Tribunal. <br/><br/>To the demand of the chief minister to give the Centre's nod for the expansion of Metro Rail Network to an additional 107.55 kilometers in Chennai, he said the processing of the proposal will be expedited.
