Venkaiah Naidu emphasizes need for implementation of reservations to backward classes, basing on population ratio<br/><br/><br/>Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Venkaiah has emphasized the need for implementation of reservations to backward classes, basing on their population ratio. <br/><br/>Addressing a meeting in Hyderabad today, he said that the fruits of reservations should reach everyone among backward classes, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. He further said that BJP opposes religion-based reservations as constitution does not envisage reservations on religious basis. '<br/><br/>The Centre has decided to give constitutional status to the backward classes commission and it introduced the bill in the Lok Sabha and it was approved and later sent to Rajya Sabha. Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya also participated in the programme.
