Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Venkaiah Naidu, who was elected President of the Governing Council of UN-Habitat, has urged the international funding agencies to support programmes aimed at promoting inclusive urban development. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said this in his Presidential address at the Plenary Session of the Governing Council of UN-Habitat in Nairobi, Kenya today. He said, affordable housing, urban infrastructure, solid waste management, environment friendly public transport and skill development should be given priority in funding by the international agencies to ensure inclusive development.<br/><br/>The Presidential Address of Mr Naidu was appreciated by experts and participants, including Joan Clos, Executive Director of UN-Habitat and representatives of other member countries of the Governing Council of UN-Habitat.
