Venkaiah Naidu appeals to Jallikattu protesters to call off agitation

Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today appealed to youth of Tamil Nadu to call off their agitation over the issue of Jallikattu, as appropriate measures have been taken by the Government. He said, some political parties are trying to politicize the issue. <br/><br/>Earlier, inaugurating the Geospatial World Forum, the Minister asked scientists to be innovative and help Governments to incorporate the latest technologies to ensure effective delivery of various development programs and welfare schemes. He exuded confidence that the deliberations and brainstorm on innovative ideas can change the lives of common people and simplify their lives to a great extent.<br/><br/> Mr Naidu said, the Government's vision to transform India can be fulfilled at fast pace with the help of Geospatial Technology and its application. He said huge investments to a tune of 500 billion dollars are expected to take place in the country in next five years. <br/><br/>Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Surveyor General of India Dr S. Subba Rao also spoke on the occasion. Mr Naidu also inaugurated an exhibition displaying various state-of-the-art geospatial technologies. About 1500 delegates from countries like the UK, Bangladesh, Mexico are taking part in the 3-day convention.
