Union information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has announced a separate 24 by 7 channel of Doordarshan "DD Jharkhand" for Jharkhand. Announcing this in a Press Conference in Ranchi today the Minister said that till the full- fledged launch of the channel, DD Ranchi program will be telecast on already running DD Bihar.<br/><br/>Jharkhand related program will be provided a special window in already available 24 into 7 satellite channel DD Bihar in which to News Bulletin of 15 minutes will be telecast from 7:15 to 7:30 in the evening and 12:15 and 12:30 in the afternoon in addition to this, one hour program would be telecast from 3 p.m to 4 P.M. All these will be produced by Doordarshan Ranchi. <br/><br/>Welcoming this decision of the Union government, state Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that this is an historical decision which should had been taken earlier. Our Ranchi correspondent reports that that additional 18 crore rupees will be given to DD Ranchi for setting up post production facilities and other infrastructure while 12 crore rupees every year will be required for program production.
