Venkaiah Naidu announces 24-7 satellite channel of DD for Chhattisgarh

Union information and broadcasting minister M Venkaiah Naidu today announced the setting up of twenty four- seven satellite channel of Doordarshan for Chhattisgarh. Mr. Naidu, who is also the Minister for urban development, housing and poverty alleviation, was addressing a press conference after conducting review meetings of the working of his ministries' units in Chhattisgarh, accompanied by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh.<br/><br/>Mr Naidu told, till the launch of 24/7 channel, DD Madhya Pradesh will carry programmes and news from Chhattisgarh in Satellite mode. <br/><br/>Later in the evening, the union minister launched various Smart City projects for Raipur worth crores of Rupees on the occasion of valedictory session of three-day long Smart city summit in the Chhattisgarh capital.<br/><br/>Addressing the gathering, he said the union government has brought in a major difference in its approach over the last two years through increased citizen participation and competition based selection of the cities under new missions. Saying that smart city requires smart infrastructure, smart administration and smart people, he appealed citizens to play a proactive role in the urban transformation.
