Union Minister for Urban Development and Information Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu has said, the country will only progress if people reform to perform to transform the nation. Mr Naidu said this after laying the foundation stone for the Chennai-based Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT)'s new campus at Ainavolu in Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh today along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He said, people should remind the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the improved performance of the States in the overall country's development and progress. <br/><br/>The Minister said, agriculture and industry are like two eyes for the country and technical education is very much important for these two sectors to perform better and prosper. He said, VIT is the first private university to set up its campus in Amaravati and there are already 13 private universities in the country which are recognized by the Centre.<br/><br/><br/> Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said, most of the famous educational institutions would soon open their campuses in Amaravati. He said, in higher education, Andhra Pradesh stands fifth in the country and there is a need to go further up the ladder.
