Venezuela's Juan Guaido calls for nationwide march on Caracas

<span style="color: #222222;">In Venezuela, thousands of people have once again hit the streets of capital Caracas in the latest rival displays for and against President Nicolas Maduro amid a deepening political crisis. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As a major blackout continued affecting much of the country for the third day, anti-government protesters heeded the call of Opposition leader Juan Guaido for renewed rallies demanding Maduro step down.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Guaido has announced a nationwide march to crank up pressure on Maduro. Guaido told thousands of his supporters that he would embark on a tour of the country before leading a nationwide march on the capital. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Guaido, who leads the Opposition-controlled National Assembly, has been recognised as interim President by more than 50 countries. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, Maduro retains the support of the military and close allies including Russia and China.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Venezuela has suffered more than four years of recession that has seen poverty soar as citizens struggle with food and medicine shortages.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">An estimated 2.7 million people have left the country since 2015.</span><br />''
