Vatti Vasanth resigns over allocation of portfolios in AP

The Andhra Pradesh cabinet led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy held its first meeting in Hyderabad this evening. Except Vatti Vasanth Kumar, who submitted his resignation to Chief Minister late last night expressing his dissatisfaction over allocation of portfolios, all other ministers attended the meeting. Earlier, about half a dozen senior ministers expressed dissatisfaction alleging that they were not given due importance and threatened to resign. However, all the ministers seemingly fall in line after holding several rounds of discussions by Chief Minister’s envoys. Efforts are also going on to convince Vasanth Kumar to withdraw his resignation.Meanwhile, the state Cabinet has approved 8.56 % hike in DA to all the state Government employees during its first meeting.
