Various activities undertaken under 'Poshan Abhiyaan' in Kashmir region

<span style="color: #222222;">POSHAN Maah-2019 aims to improve coverage of beneficiaries with health and nutritional awareness campaigns by undertaking innovative initiatives like enhancing 'POSHAN Bhagidari' and promoting 'POSHAN Par Charcha'. All initiatives are focused for a mechanism required to be put in place to ensure complete coverage of target groups and thorough implementation of the nutrition mission in the Kashmir Division. </span><br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Various activities have been undertaken under 'Poshan Abhiyaan' in Kashmir Region. The focus was laid on five critical components during Poshan Maah. These include First 1000 days covering 270 days of pregnancy and two years after birth of the child. In addition, preventing young children, women and adolescent girls from becoming victims of anemia besides prevention from Diarrhoea and adopting handwash and sanitation and providing nutrient-rich food (Poshtik Aahar) are other critical components of Poshan Abhiyaan.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> <b>AIR correspondent reports that o<i><u>fficials said that training of Anganwari workers is a must to understand POSHAN ABHIYAAN and early childhood care and education.  Under Poshan Abhiyaan, scores of Nutrition Projects are being implemented through thousands of  Anganwadi Centres in all the districts of Kashmir region. To tackle malnutrition and related problems, various schemes need to be synergised to achieve common goal. An ICDS official suggested to set up kitchen gardens at Anganwari Centres to have readily available vegetables, cereals and fruits for the target beneficiaries to fight malnutrition to protect health of  future generations. It is hoped that National Nutrition Mission through robust convergence mechanism, will meet its targets in the Kashmir region.</u></i></b></span><br />''  <br />
