Campaign in Varanasi has reached its peak with the last day for filing nominations just a day away. Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal will file his nomination today . BJP leader Narenedra Modi is sheduled to file his nominations tomorrow, the last day to do so.

Congress has fielded Ajay Rai and Samajwadi Party Kailash Chaurasiya, both MLAs. BSP has fielded Vijay Prakash Jaisawal while CPI(M) has given ticket to veteran party worker Heera Lal Yadav. Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress has given ticket to Indira Tiwari.

Polling in Varanasi will be held in the last phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 12. Hundreds of AAP volunteers are making door-to-door visits to garner support from people in the temple city. BJP has been running an aggressive campaign to consolidate its vote bank.
