For the first time in the history, pilgrimage to holy shrine of Goddess Vaishno Devi is set to cross eight million mark this year, going by the trends so far. Yatra to the cave shrine has reached seven million mark, a landmark achieved only once so far. In 2007, yatra to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine had crossed seven million mark for the first time and stood at 74.17 lakh. However, in 2008, it came down to 67.92 lakh . <br/>Figures maintained by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) revealed that 69.55 lakh yatris had darshan of natural pindies of the Goddess this year by this evening. The number of yatris is expected to touch seven million on Sunday.<br/>
