Venkaiah Naidu has called upon institutions of learning to promote sports, co-carricular activities and recreation along with studies for overall growth of students.  Speaking after inagurating Sports and Arts Facilities in a private school in Bangaluru today, the Vice President said that students should be tought the value of gardening, tree plantation, water conservation rain water harvesting, love for nature and mother tounge.  He said the importance of our heritage and culture should be inculcated in the students.  He said education is a mission not a commission for the promotion of the nation with passion.<br />''<br />''Referring to the controversy arising out of religious attire, the Vice President laid down the importance of a school uniform that promotes discipline, dedication, devotion in children.  Governor of Karnataka Thawarchand Gehlot and  Horticulture Minister N Muniratna were also present on the occasion.</span><br />
