Statistics and Programme Implementation Minister V K Singh has asked the statisticians to collect data on time and in a reliable manner. <br/><br/>Addressing National Statistics Day in New Delhi this afternoon, Mr Singh said timely data can help in making schemes and prepare contingency plans on real time basis. <br/><br/>Referring to this year's theme which is Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, the Minister said, the data can play an important role in dealing with emerging challenges of the Agriculture sector. <br/><br/>Asking the statisticians to use of advance technology while collecting data for various sectors, Mr Singh said, data should be collected with utmost responsibility and in a fair manner. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said accurate data is important for increasing production and productivity of the agriculture sector as well as formulating new schemes.
