Uttarakhand to constitute State Child Rights Commission

Uttarakhand Cabinet has decided to constitute a state child Rights Commission for safeguarding children’s rights in the state. Chief Secretary of the state Subhash Kumar told media persons in Dehradun that the commission will have judicial powers akin to district court and will have authority to summon the accused parties. He said that the decision to constitute the commission was taking in wake of a directive issued by the centre in this regard. According to our correspondent state cabinet also gave its nod for constitution of the much awaited Corbett tiger conservation foundation for which state forest department had been trying hard for nearly a year. The foundation to be headed by the state forest minister will pave the way for the state government to obtain massive funds for tiger conservation.
