<span style="color: #222222;">The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm across the state today, with Governor Gurmeet Singh unfurling the flag first at a function at Raj Bhawan, followed by hoisting the tricolour at the main function held at the Parade ground, in the state capital today. The Governor took salute at the ceremonial parade on the occasion. Army, ITBP, Police, PAC, Homeguard, and PRD personnel took part in the parade. The Governor extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion. He also felicitated police personnel at the ceremony. In the wake of the pandemic, the function was celebrated in a subdued manner, following all the Corona guidelines.<br />'' <br />''In his address, the Governor expressed his respects to all the great freedom fighters and constitution-makers including Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid homage to all the military families of Veerbhoomi Uttarakhand, whose brave sons are serving the nation at the borders. The Governor said that today was a day of deep introspection, determination, and dedication. He asked people of the state to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming legislative assembly elections and&nbsp;strengthen the democracy. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also extended his wishes to people of the state on the occasion.</span>
