UCC was discussed for about four hours in the session and then the speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan adjourned the session till 11 am tomorrow.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Akashwani correspondent reports that&nbsp;Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tabled the Uniform Civil Code-UCC Bill in the House this morning amid the uproar of the opposition. As soon as the bill was placed in the House, the entire House started resonating with slogans of Vande Mataram and Jai Shri Ram. The opposition sought time to read the bill, which Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan allowed and adjourned the House till 2 pm. When the proceedings of the House resumed, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal presented his views on the merits of the Uniform Civil Code. Participating in a debate on the UCC after its introduction in the House, BJP leaders stated that the state had made history by bringing the legislation and attributed the non-implementation of a Uniform Civil Code in the country over the years to the &quot;politics of appeasement&quot;.&nbsp; Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya demanded to hand over the UCC legislation to the select committee. After discussing the UCC in the House for about four hours, the Speaker adjourned the session till 11 am tomorrow. Discussion on UCC will continue in the House tomorrow as well. It may be recalled that various aspects have been mentioned in the draft of the Uniform Civil Code Act 2024. This draft covers matters related to marriage, divorce, inheritance, child adoption and custody of children.&nbsp;</span></p>
