Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat wins Dharchula seat in bye-poll

Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Harish Rawat has won the Dharchula seat in the by-election to the State Assembly. He defeated B.D. Joshi of the BJP by a margin of 20,599 votes.

In the other two Constituencies of Doiwala and Someshwar, Congress candidates were leading when reports last came in. In Doiwala seat, Hira Singh Bisht of the Congress was leading by more than 4,000 votes over his BJP rival Trivendra Singh Rawat.

In Someshwar Constituency, Congress candidate Rekha Arya was leading by about 7,500 votes over her BJP rival Mohan Ram Arya.
