In Uttarakhand, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi today instructed the Kumaon Commissioner to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the Haldwani incident over illegal constructions and submit a report within 15 days. A curfew is currently in force in the Banbhulpura area of Haldwani following clashes between protesters and the administration after the demolition of illegal constructions on the 8th of February. Additional Director General of Law and Order, AP Anshuman, stated that the situation in Haldwani is under control. He mentioned that the curfew has been lifted from the outskirts and is now confined only to the Banbhulpura area. ADG Anshuman also reported that three FIRs have been registered in connection with the incident, naming 16 individuals while the rest remain unidentified.
