Uttarakhand government has banned mountaineering and tracking expedition in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said that the decision to this affect has been taken in view of inclement weather. Meanwhile the search is being carried out on a war-footing and two Cheeta helicopters of Army Aviation have been deployed for the search of the trekking party that had gone missing on Gangotri – Kalindikhal route. Relief and rescue operation is on in the affected areas of the state with the help of ITBP and NDRF.
