Uttarakhand: Ash immersion in Haridwar prohibited for two days amid rise in corona cases

In Uttarakhand, Haridwar District Administration has prohibited ash immersion rituals for two days following an increase of Corona positive cases in the District as people from neighboring states are trying to come to the pilgrimage city.<br />''<br />''Section 144 of CRPC has been imposed till tomorrow in the district. If anyone is found illegally entering the district, then he or she will be put under paid quarantine for two weeks. District borders with Uttar Pradesh have been sealed and people have been urged to observe festive rituals of Somavati Amavasya at their home.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, 239 fresh COVID-19 cases have been recorded in the state as per State Health Bulletin which was released last night. Haridwar alone reported 150 new cases yesterday.<br />''<br />''However, 58 cases have been reported in Deharadun, out of which 13 Army personnel and two Central security Force Jawans were also found infected.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Deharadun District Police have set up a helpline to address issues of people in distress in an effort to curb suicides in the city.<br />
