Uttarakhand: 52 Candidates in fray for state's five parliamentary seats

In Uttarakhand, 52 Candidates are in the fray for state's five parliamentary seats that go to polls on 11th April in the first phase. The seats that will go to poll include Almora-Pithoragarh, Nainital- Udhamsingh Nagar, Haridwar, Tehri and Pauri Garhwal constituencies. Bhartiya Janta Party and Congress candidates are main contestants in all the five seats. <br />''<br />''The election campaign is getting momentum after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public rally was held on Thursday. Other star campaigners of the BJP are also addressing election rallies across the state to mobilize voters for the party candidates. Earlier this month, Congress president Rahul Gandhi also addressed a public rally in Dehradun. <br />''<br />''BSP, UKD and other political parties are also campaigning. In 2014 BJP won all the five seats.  There is a total of 77 lakh 65 thousand 423 voters in the state. Out of that 37 lakh, 11 thousand 220 are female voters. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">As per officials after withdrawal of nominations maximum 15 candidates in Tehri and Haridwar parliamentary constituencies, while minimum 6 candidates are in the fray for Almora-Pithoragarh reserved constituency. Among other parties and independents, 9 contesting in  Pauri and 7 in Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar seat.</span><br />
