Uttar Pradesh under grip of intense Cold-wave

In Uttar Pradesh, whole state is under grip of intense Cold-wave and mercury plummeted in many parts especially in night. Weatherman has predicted more chilly days to come. AIR correspondent reports that after brief spell of rain, now there is sudden fall in night temperature in state. In last 48 hours temperature dropped at least 4 to 5 degrees. The chill was accompanied by gusty winds, making it difficult for people, especially school children, to venture out of their homes in the morning. Agra was coldest place in state with 3.7 degree minimum temperature which was 5 degrees below normal. <br />''  <br />'' In Bareilly and Saharanpur division also night temperature in between 4 to 7 degrees. J.P. Gupta, Director of the regional Met Office, said the cold wave was due to a western disturbance in the region which will continue till February 2. The temperature is likely to further plummet by at least five degrees.<br />''  <br />'' <br />
