Uttar Pradesh says elections to student`s unions in the state universities and colleges will be held as per recommendations of Lyngdoh committee recommendations. An official spokesperson said that as per recommendation of the Committee printed publicity materials, banners and use of loud speakers are banned in the elections. The government has issued an order to all concerned that implementation of the recommendation of the committee must be insured. The government has already issued orders for conducting the union`s elections as per recommendations of the committee. AIR Allahabad correspondent reports that taking cognisance of posters and banners displayed at different universities campuses and their cities the Chief Minister has directed the officials for taking stringent action in this regard. The Chief Minister has said that as per recommendations of the Committee, students with criminal background should not be allowed to contest the union`s elections and limit of expenses for the elections fixed by the committee should also be followed strictly.
