<span style="color: #222222;">In Uttar Pradesh, Makar Sankranti is being celebrated with full religious fervour. The famous Magh Mela of Prayagraj has also begun today. Makar Sankranti is also being celebrated as Khichdi especially in Purvanchal and Awadh region in the state. A month-long Makar Sankranti Fair or Khichdi Mela has also begun in the Gorakhnath Temple from today. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that Devotees have flocked to the ghats of Sangam to offer Kalpavas. During the month-long ritual of Kalpavas, devotees stay at the banks of the Sangam and live an ascetic life. Fasting and offering alms are also an integral part of the ancient ritual. Devotees are also taking dip and offering prayers in the holy river Ganga in Varanasi and Garh Mukteshwar and Saryu in Ayodhya along with other rivers in the state. </span>
