The Centre has urged the States to fully utilize funds provided by the Tribal Ministry under the Special Area programmes. According to an official release, the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Kishore Chandra Deo, said this, at a meeting with State Secretaries, Commissioners and administrators from different States and Union Territories in New Delhi yesterday. Mr. Deo reviewed important schemes and programmes of his Ministry relating to tribal welfare. He said various income generation activities can be implemented for overall development of the Scheduled Tribes under the Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plans.
