UTAA demands CBI probe into death of its two agitators

In Goa, The United Tribals Association Alliance on Friday demanded a CBI probe in the death of its two agitators during its mammoth agitation at Balli in South Goa district on May 25th.Earlier UTAA had demanded a judicial probe into the episode for which a deadline was given to the govt. till May 26th, but since the govt. did not pay any heed to the demand of the organisation , the leaders today demanded that a CBI enquiry be ordered. The leaders who gathered today at the Azad Maidan in the capital city Panaji today expressed serious concern over the insensitivity of the government towards tribals problems and decided to carry on their agitation till the government appoints a CBI enquiry. It may be recalled two youths from the tribal community in their thirties were burnt alive during a peaceful agitation for their twelve point demands on May 25th at Balli in the south Goa district, by miscreants in the huge fire after a building was set ablaze during the ongoing agitation. The bodies of two youths are presently lying in the morgue at the Goa Medical College at Bambolim near Panaji and their relatives have decided not to accept them for final rites till the policemen responsible for the ghastly murder of the youths are booked. In the meanwhile, the incident has sent shock waves in the entire state.
