After Ladakh became a Union Territory, a 122-kilometer-long new race Silk Route Ultra has been added to the prestigious Ladakh Marathon this year. The Silk Route Ultra begins from Kyagar in Nubra.<br />'' <br />'' The Union Territory Ladakh administration has reviewed preparations for the 9th Edition Ladakh Marathon. Divisional Commissioner Saugat Biswas chaired a meeting with the senior officials of various departments, police, Army, and BRO in Leh today. Sports Secretary Ravinder Kumar and Health Director Dr Motup Dorjey were also present in the review meeting.<br />'' <br />'' During the presentation, Ladakh Marathon Director Chewang Motup Goba said, no other marathon in the world matches the high-altitude Ladakh Marathon. He said, Ladakh Marathon has an Association of International marathons and Distance Races.<br />'' <br />'' The first marathon Silk Route Ultra with 57 runners begins on 8th September at 8 PM and joins at Khardung on 9th September at 3 AM with Khardung Challenge that ends in Leh at 5 PM.<br />'' <br />'' UT Ladakh Sports and Youth Services is organizing a 5K Run as part of Ladakh Marathon, on 10th September from NDS Grounds in Leh.<br />'' <br />''Similarly, Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10.5 KM Run will be conducted on 11th September from NDS Grounds.
