United States today said that it is working with partners to secure India's Nuclear Suppliers Group, NSG membership. <br/><br/>In his first address in New Delhi after assuming office, Ambassador of US to India Kenneth Juster said, India and US must build a partnership that is strong and durable, flexible and adaptive.<br/><br/>He said, India is a leading power in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond and for both countries the Indo-Pacific region is vital to the security and prosperity of the people of US, India as well as others. <br/><br/>He said, US want to promote respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, guarantee freedom of navigation over flight and commerce and other lawful uses of the sea and ensure territorial and maritime disputes are resolved peacefully consistent with international laws.<br/><br/>He said, US seeks to assist India's efforts to build up its indigenous defense base and capabilities, as well as enhance the inter-operability of the two forces as major defense partners in the Indo-Pacific region.<br/><br/>He said, India and US both have suffered horrific terror attacks and both have strong mutual interest in eliminating this menace. Mr Juster said, President Trump has been clear that US will not tolerate cross border terror or terror safe havens anywhere.<br/><br/>Mr Juster said, US thinks that fully free and fair trade will support and accelerate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's effort to improve India's long-term growth rate in a sustained way. He said, Indian entrepreneurs have successfully bridged the two cultures and approximately 33 per cent of all tech startups in US have Indian founders.<br/> <br/>Mr Juster said, America First and 'Make in India' are not incompatible and rather investing in each others markets will be mutually beneficial and it increase economic interactions and volume of trade.
