In the United States, Trump administration has released a list of hardline immigration priorities including overhauling the country's green card system, hiring 10,000 more immigration officers and building wall along the southern border. <br/><br/>In a letter to Congress accompanying the list, Mr Trump said these findings outline reforms that must be included as part of any legislation addressing the status of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients. <br/><br/>Mr. Trump's legislative affairs Director, Marc Short, said the priorities were essential to mitigate the legal and economic consequences of any grant of status to DACA recipients. <br/><br/>The Trump administration wants the wish list to guide immigration reform in Congress and accompany a bill to replace DACA, the Obama-era program that protected nearly 800,000 "Dreamers" from deportation and allowed them to secure work permits. <br/><br/>Democrats have oppose many of the demands laid out in the administration list. In a joint statement, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said the list goes so far beyond what is reasonable and fails to represent any attempt at compromise.<br/><br/>House Speaker Paul Ryan's spokesman Doug Andres said the House immigration working group will review the list and consult with Republican members and the administration.
