US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has said he expects President Donald Trump to impose new sanctions on Iran. <br/><br/>The news comes as President Trump faces a Friday deadline to decide whether to waive other major sanctions on Iran lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, European and Iranian top diplomats have urged US President Donald Trump to uphold the nuclear deal with Tehran. <br/><br/>The EU's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini as well as the foreign ministers of Germany, Britain, France, and Iran met at EU headquarters in Brussels yesterday. <br/><br/>They discussed the deal reached by six world powers and Iran in 2015 to sharply curb Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for lifting economic sanctions. <br/><br/>The countries have been implementing the accord since January 2016.<br/>
