It has been confirmed that the United States will send an envoy to North Korea before the end of the year. On the final day of a largely-symbolic Asian trip, United States President Barack Obama announced a major diplomatic move. On December 8, he will send envoy Stephen Bosworth to North Korea. His mission will be to try and coax North Korea back to nuclear disarmament talks. North Korea's leader Kim Jong Il has said his country will return to talks if it has satisfactory bilateral discussions with the United States. But North Korea's state press slammed Barack Obama's meeting with South Korea's President Lee Myung-bak as part of "frantic moves for a war of aggression".
