The United States is planning to lift its travel ban on people who are HIV positive. For 22 years the United States has banned entry to travellers, based on their HIV status. But now President Barack Obama says the travel restriction will be lifted. The US ban has kept out thousands of students, tourists and refugees. No major international AIDS conference has been held in the US since 1993.
