The United States today announced a contribution of 40 million US Dollars to the UN's relief operations for Palestinian refugees.<br/><br/>The Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P J Crowley said, that out of this contribution, 30 million US Dollars will support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency's core services in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and the West Bank and Gaza. He said, an additional 10 million US Dollars will support the UN ‘ the UNRWA's emergency appeal for the West Bank and Gaza, including emergency food assistance and job creation programs.<br/><br/>Crowley said, the 40 million US Dollar contributions will provide critical health, education, and humanitarian services to 4.7 million Palestinian refugees across the region.
