India and the United States are to work jointly to improve India's monsoon forecast. The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric said in Washington that an agreement was formalised during President Barack Obama's visit to New Delhi as part of a series of food security agreements. The monsoon agreement, which strives to improve long-range monsoon prediction, holds great potential for India while also benefiting the United States and other nations through improvements in their own seasonal climate forecasts.
